toast success at the annual SPATA industry
awards
Some of the most innovative swimming pool
companies were celebrating on Sunday night (7
February) after collecting awards at the 34th
annual SPATA Awards.
The Swimming Pool Allied Trade Association
(SPATA) Awards were held at the Brighton Hilton
Metropole Hotel where SPATEX, the UK's largest
swimming pool and hot tub exhibition, held its
14th annual trade show.
The big winner of the night was Jetform Services,
an Essex based swimming pool contractor. They
scooped seven awards in total including 'Pool of
the Year' and 'The Dick Millward trophy for Pool
Contractor of the Year'. They were closely
followed by Alba/SB Pools, Belhasa Projects LLC,
Heritage Pools, The London Swimming Pool Co, Home
Counties and Oyster Pools & Leisure Ltd who
all took home four awards each.
The awards, organised by SPATA, which represents
approximately 200 specialist pool building
companies across the UK, highlight the
achievements of the pool industry by showcasing
the best examples of construction, design, retail
and innovation.
Chris Hayes, Managing Director of the British
Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF), an organisation
which brings together the UK bodies, including
SPATA that represent the wet leisure industry
said: "This year was the 34th year of the SPATA
Awards and once again they proved to be more
popular than previous years. The judges had a
difficult job deciding who should win. There was
a shortlist of 91 entries across 22 categories.
"At this year's SPATEX event we attracted the
general public as well as trade. We had over 100
companies exhibiting who were thrilled with the
quality of the event. The popularity of the show
demonstrates that, undeniably, there is a demand
for this kind of event in the industry."
